States of packages

To understand the possibilites you have with Magnolia Packager it is important to know the possible states of a package.


  1. Start with creating a new package and you get an defined package. You can edit the definition (rules) and the description.
  2. With a defined package you can only download a snapshot package which you can send to somebody.
  3. The receiver of the snapshot package can upload the package to his system
  4. And the package is ready to install
  5. After installing the package is ready to be uninstalled
  6. After uninstalling you have only the package definitions left
